ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (Thursday, January 31, 2019) The month of February in Atlantic City will be buzzing with activity as the Atlantic City Convention Center and Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall welcome 150,000 attendees during several events and consumer shows throughout the month.

On the Boardwalk this weekend, Battle at the Boardwalk will take over Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall with over 275 teams competing for the U.S. Finals Qualifier.

The following weekend Via Exito EquipoVision will occupy the arena February 7-10. Furthermore, Erykah Badu and special guest Busta Rhymes will perform on February 16 as part of the annual Valentine’s Day weekend concert. In addition, the New Jersey State High School Wrestling Championships will take over Boardwalk Hall and compete for the state title February 28-March 2.

In the following weeks, the Atlantic City Convention Center will welcome the Atlantic City Classic Car Show and Auction, February 8-10, the Atlantic City RV and Camping Show, February 15-17, U.S. Futsal Northeast Regional Championship, February 15-17, and the Progressive Atlantic City Boat Show, starting February 27 and concluding March 3.

Atlantic City businesses are expected to greatly benefit from the activity at both venues. The combined estimated economic impact is expected to reach more than $32 million with more than 13,400 hotel room nights contracted over the course of the month.

“February starts a busy period for both the Atlantic City Convention Center and Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall,” said Spectra’s Jim Wynkoop, General Manager of Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall and the Atlantic City Convention Center. “This is a great opportunity to showcase all that Atlantic City has to offer to tens of thousands of people each weekend. Some of the attendees will be in Atlantic City for the first time and we look forward to giving them a first-class experience with our service at their events and to helping them find everything thing they need in town before and after their time in our venues.”

About the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority
The only agency of its kind nationwide, the CRDA has used Atlantic City casino reinvestments as a catalyst for meaningful, positive improvement in the lives of New Jersey residents since 1984.  Under the 2011 Tourism District Act, the Authority's mission evolved from statewide projects to becoming the state's key economic development agency for Atlantic City.  CRDA's expanded responsibilities now include land use regulation, tourism marketing and clean and safe initiatives. The CRDA also oversees Historic Boardwalk Hall (the leading entertainment venue of its size in the country) and the Atlantic City Convention Center.  In total, CRDA has invested nearly $2 billion in more than 400 projects statewide, of which $1.8 billion has been invested in Atlantic City, spurring business investments and expansions, and creating permanent jobs in the process.
