Beach & Boardwalk Access and Facilities
We want everyone to enjoy some of the top East Coast beaches, so we prioritize wheelchair-accessible vacations, including handicapped-accessible beaches. We also want you to be comfortable, so we offer restrooms, changing stations and outdoor public showers for your convenience.
Outdoor Public Showers
Outdoor public showers operate seasonally Memorial Day through September 30 - there are no bathhouses in Atlantic City.
Restrooms
Restrooms are located at several locations along the Boardwalk at: Bartram Ave., Albany Ave., Chelsea Ave., Kennedy Plaza at Mississippi Ave., New York Ave., Garden Pier at New Jersey Ave., New Hampshire Ave., and Caspian Ave.
Restrooms at New York Ave., Mississippi Ave. and Chelsea Ave. are open year-round during the following hours:
- May 1 to October 1: 7am - 9:30pm
- October 1 to May 1: 7am- 7pm
All other restrooms are seasonal and open:
- Memorial Day weekend to October 1: 7am- 7pm
Restrooms are ADA compliant; Caspian Ave. is a single use accessible bathroom.

175' Long Handicap Beach Access Mats
175' long handicap beach access mats are located at Tallahassee, Bartram, Albany, and Raleigh Avenue entrances.
Handicap Beach Surf Chairs
Handicap beach surf chairs are available through the Beach Patrol at District 7 - Mississippi Ave., centrally located in the city. Chair use is on a first come/first serve basis. Call (609) 347-5307 for availability.
