ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – (Thursday, April 27, 2017) The Atlantic City Convention Center will welcome more than 30,000 attendees into the building this weekend for the 17th Annual New Jersey Prevention Network (NJPN) Conference and the Bassnectar concert.

The NJPN Conference is a one-day conference, which will be held Friday, April 28 and they will be celebrating their 10th Anniversary at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The New Jersey Prevention Network’s Annual Addiction Conference educates prevention and treatment professionals about critical issues surrounding substance abuse, while providing a unique forum for networking, collaboration and workforce development.

This year’s Keynote Speaker will include Dr. Bertha Madras who was recently appointed to President Trump’s Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis. Governor Chris Christie chairs this commission and he is expected to speak during the 12:00 p.m. lunch session for approximately twenty minutes. Governor Christie is expected to discuss the Opioid issue across the country and in New Jersey, along with the promotion of the new drug addiction help hotline; 1-844-REACH-NJ (http://reachnj.gov/).

“The 17th Annual NJPN Addiction Conference will be welcoming the largest attendance in its history. This event is the only opportunity for frontline addiction professionals to come together to strengthen their skills, increase their knowledge on best practice and learn about the current trends that are impacting the youth, families and communities of New Jersey,” stated Diane Litterer, New Jersey Prevention Network CEO and Executive Director.

In addition, Bassnectar will be holding a two-day concert taking place at the Atlantic City Convention Center Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29. Bassnectar is one of the longest standing and most respected artists in American electronic dance music. Each concert is expected to reach 15,000 attendees. “This is yet another great weekend for Atlantic City and a chance to showcase the Atlantic City Convention Center’s diversity and flexibility for hosting a wide variety of events that economically benefit the destination,” added Spectra’s Dean Dennis, General Manager of the Atlantic City Convention Center.
