Atlantic City, NJ – Jan. 4, 2023 – In 2022, Meet AC and the Atlantic City Sports Commission hosted 210 competitions, conventions and sporting events across the destination, with 80 of the events taking place at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The destination was proud to host landmark events like the 113th NAACP National Convention in July, the Meet AC Atlantic City Airshow in August, and The Atlantic City Pickleball Open, the world’s largest indoor pickleball tournament in September.

“Last year was a landmark year for meetings and conventions in Atlantic City as we began to see planner’s appetites for in-person meetings and events grow following the pandemic,” said Meet AC’s President and CEO, Larry Sieg. “With the continued surge in both leisure and bleisure travel, we’re expecting to build on the momentum into 2023 with exciting new events such as TakeOff North America 2023, the SHIFT Expo, and the 2023 USRowing Annual Convention and Indoor National Championships.”


Indoor Auto Racing
Indoor Auto Racing will take place at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall on Jan. 27 - 28, 2023. The weekend will feature a first-ever “Double Down” schedule, with two main events and two Gambler’s Classic Cup trophies being handed out, one on Friday, Jan. 27 and another on Saturday, Jan. 28. During the “Double Down” weekend, drivers in the main division - the TQ Midgets - will have two opportunities to host the Gambler’s Classic Cup. Friday night will feature a complete show, making up the 2021 Gambler’s Classic that was lost to COVID restrictions. Then on Saturday night, the program will start all over with heat races, B-mains and another 40-lap main Gambler’s Classic. The event expects 11,000 attendees, 1,226 room nights and $2,312,847 in economic impact.

2023 USRowing Annual Convention
The 2023 USRowing Annual Convention is returning for its first in-person event since 2019. Held in conjunction with the Atlantic City Indoor Rowing Association (ACIRA), the convention will coincide with the USRowing Indoor National Championships at the Atlantic City Convention Center Feb. 3-5, 2023. This is the first time USRowing has combined these events, expecting 1,200 attendees, 1,500 room nights and  $1,288,834  in economic impact.

U.S. Futsal Northeast Regional Championship
The U.S. Futsal Northeast Regional Championship, the largest Futsal Competition in the United States, will be held at the Atlantic City Convention Center between Feb. 17 – 20, 2023. Futsal is a type of soccer that is played indoors on a court much smaller than a traditional soccer pitch. The smaller field size ensures a game of Futsal is fast-paced and more intense, with more opportunity for goal scoring. The event expects 8,000 attendees, 5466 room nights, and $5,718,572 in economic impact.

New Jersey State High School Wrestling Championships
New Jersey’s most decorated wrestlers will make their way to Atlantic City for the New Jersey State High School Wrestling Championships held at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall March 3 - 5, 2023. With a state title on the line, attendees will cheer on their favorite high school stars as the mat is rolled out. The event expects 34,162 attendees, 545 room nights, and $5,270,144 in economic impact.

MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will take place from March 7 - 11, 2023 at  Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. The MAAC basketball tournament determines the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's champion and the winner of the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I basketball tournament. The event expects 7,000 attendees, 1,897 room nights and $1,925,478 in economic impact.


The Pool & Spa Show
The Pool & Spa Show will take place from Jan. 24 - 26, 2023 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. During this event, attendees will hear about new technologies in the pool and spa industry, gain must-have industry certifications through on-site courses and network with other spa and pool professionals. The show expects 11,000 attendees, 7,885 room nights and $10,656,636 in economic impact.

Via Exito Equipovision
Via Exito Equipovision will take place on Feb. 2 - 5, 2023 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. EquipoVision is a provider of Amway training and education, and they support thousands of independent business owners throughout North America. The events are based on family principles, financial stability, motivation and free enterprise, as they help attendees develop characteristics that contribute to the success of their business. The event expects 1,200 attendees, 1,500 room nights and $3,725,058 in economic impact.

NJ Music Educators Association 2023 State Conference
This year’s New Jersey Music Educators Association Conference will take place from Feb. 23 - 25, 2023 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Music educators from across the state will enjoy dedicated concert hours that feature several student performance groups from throughout the Northeast. At Friday’s General Session, the association will recognize their Master Music Teachers and other award recipients. There are also two special guest evening performers in the evening, The US Air Force Band and the Singing Sergeants. The event expects 2,000 attendees, 951 room nights and $1,196,855 in economic impact.

Progressive Atlantic City Boat Show
The Progressive Atlantic City Boat Show will take place from March 1 - 5, 2023 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Attendees can expect seminars on fishing that will help anglers improve their catch; tips, tricks and DIY advice for every boater; and stand-up paddleboard test rides. The event expects 40,000 attendees, 877 room nights and $8,436,291 economic impact.

Tri-State Camp Conference
The Tri-State Camp Conference will take place from March 14 - 16, 2023 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. It is the largest gathering of camp professionals in the world. The community of over 3,200 will come together to learn at over 160 educational sessions, find new products and services at their 300+ booth exhibit hall, and best of all, spend time with like-minded people who are dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children. The event expects 3,800 attendees, 1,983 room nights and $2,297,511 in economic impact.

2023 Skills Competition Eastern Atlantic States
The 2023 Skills Competition for the Eastern Atlantic States will take place on March 30, 2023 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. A nonprofit national education association, SkillsUSA serves middle-school, high-school and college/postsecondary students preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. The event expects 500 attendees, 850 room nights and $871,790 in economic impact.


Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa’s High Limit Slot Lounge, Miralto, Reopens
Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa reopened the newly renovated Miralto, an 8,300 square-foot high-limit slot lounge on Dec. 23. Located near the hotel lobby, Miralto offers more than 150 high-limit slot games, private restrooms along with exclusive cashiering services. With an emphasis on sophistication, the secluded area will be elevated with redesigned cabinetry to encase the distinctive collection of games, offer comfortable seating, and feature a custom glass chandelier spanning over eight feet in diameter.

Old Homestead Steak House Reopens at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa
Borgata’s Old Homestead Steak House reopened on Dec. 22 after undergoing renovations. The beloved dining destination welcomed guests back to a newly designed dining room, expanded bar and legendary food and beverage menu. Located steps from the excitement of Borgata’s gaming floor, the updated design takes inspiration from Old Homestead’s flagship location in New York, with original artwork and photography adorning the walls of the multi-floor dining room. Traditional paneling is complemented by hues of red, gold and warm browns, creating an inviting backdrop for the restaurant’s classic menu of steaks, seafood and sides.

Caesars Atlantic City Opens Hell’s Kitchen and Nobu Restaurants
Caesars Atlantic City debuted two new upscale restaurants: Hell’s Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay and an outpost of the famous, high-end Japanese chain, Nobu. The restaurants are part of the overall $400 million investment into the three Caesars Entertainment properties in Atlantic City: Caesars, Harrah’s, and Tropicana.

Sun Country Airlines Announces New Flights To Atlantic City
Sun Country plans to grow its network with 15 new routes from its hub in Minneapolis- one of those routes is direct to Atlantic City International Airport beginning in May 2023. The new service to Atlantic City will support the airline’s casino charter customers.

Steel Pier Announces Two New Roller Coasters
Two new roller coasters are coming to the iconic Steel Pier. The first is a Spinning Wild Mouse coaster, featuring tight turns, sharp drops, and cars that freely rotate a full 360 degrees as they travel the track, which is set to open in 2024. It will replace a much earlier version of that spinning coaster type, called "Wild Mouse''. The other new attraction, a Sky Rocket II model roller coaster, is expected in 2025. While numbers can vary depending on park location, these exciting rides typically exceed speeds of 60 miles per hour and feature over 850 feet of track, a 150-foot peak and an inversion. The Steel Pier ride will also boast a large digital sign that draws attention to the park.

AtlantiCare unveils new Medical Arts Pavilion
AtlantiCare announced a new Medical Arts Pavilion on Ohio Avenue. The $38.3 million facility was specifically developed by the regional healthcare system to enhance access to quality care for the Atlantic City community. Through the facility, AtlantiCare will address healthcare disparities, social determinants of health and the national physician shortage. It will expand its Maternal Fetal Medicine, Family Planning and Safe Beginnings programs aimed at giving mothers, babies and families healthy starts to life. AtlantiCare's Medical Arts Pavilion is now open to patients.
