ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Jan. 4, 2024 – In 2023, Visit Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Sports Commission experienced one of their largest years to date. From launching its new branding and website to hosting several milestone events including the 20th Visit Atlantic City Airshow, JJFISHWEEKAC and the US Open Pool Tournament, Atlantic City showed continued success and growth.
“This was a massive year for Atlantic City in both tourism and meetings and conventions,” said Larry Sieg, President and CEO of Visit Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Sports Commission. “The destination debuted THE HOOK, Spiegelworld’s first east coast entertainment residency; Borgata’s remodeled tower, MGM Tower; and the largest indoor beachfront waterpark in the world, Island Waterpark at Showboat Hotel. We’re carrying all of that momentum in 2024 by bringing new events into the destination that bolster Atlantic City’s position as a top destination for bleisure travelers.”
Q1 CONVENTIONS, CONFERENCES & EVENTS IN ATLANTIC CITY
The Pool & Spa Show will take place from Jan. 23 - 25, 2024 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. During this event, attendees will hear about new technologies in the pool and spa industry, gain must-have industry certifications through on-site courses and network with other spa and pool professionals. The show expects 11,000 attendees, 7,885 room nights and $11,527,389 in economic impact.
Alpha Kappa Alpha - North Atlantic Regional Conference 2024
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. welcomes sisters from across the North Atlantic region to Atlantic City for its regional conference from Feb. 8 - 11, 2024. Alpha Kappa Alpha members will hear from keynote speakers about their F.I.R.S.T. pillars which serve as their compass: Fellowship, Innovation, Respect, Serve and Thrive. The conference expects 5,410 attendees, 3,780 room nights and $4,257,062 in economic impact.
NJ Music Educators Association 2024 State Conference
This year’s New Jersey Music Educators Association Conference will take place from Feb. 22 - 24, 2024 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Music educators from across the state will enjoy dedicated concert hours that feature several student performance groups from throughout the Northeast. At Friday’s General Session, the association will recognize their Master Music Teachers and other award recipients. The event expects 2,000 attendees, 954 room nights and $1,327,655 in economic impact.
Law students hopeful to be admitted to the New Jersey Bar will sit for the New Jersey Bar Exam at the Atlantic City Convention Center from Feb. 27 - Feb. 28, 2024. The event expects 600 attendees, 83 room nights and $183,262 in economic impact.
2024 Discover Boating Atlantic City Boat Show
As the one-stop shop for boats, boating accessories, and on-the-water adventures, the Discover Boating Atlantic City Boat Show has something in store for every boater. Not only will there be hundreds of vessels on display, but there will be plenty of interactive boating exhibits the whole family will love. The event takes place from Feb. 28 - March 3 and expects 40,000 attendees, 572 room nights and $8,514,613 in economic impact.
The Tri-State Camp Conference will take place from March 12 - 14, 2024 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. It is the largest gathering of camp professionals in the world. The community of over 3,200 will come together to learn at over 160 educational sessions, find new products and services at their 300+ booth exhibit hall, and best of all, spend time with like-minded people who are dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children. The event expects 3,800 attendees, 1,933 room nights and $2,602,217 in economic impact.
Q1 SPORTING EVENTS IN ATLANTIC CITY
27th Annual SBGA Star Struck Invitational
Gymnasts of all levels will compete on the uneven bars, balance beam, vault and floor exercises at the 27th Annual SBGA Star Struck Invitational at the Atlantic City Convention Center from Jan. 12 - 14, 2024. The weekend-long event, hosted by Star Bound Gymnastics Academy in Deerfield Township, is a fundraiser with this year's proceeds being divided between the Wounded Warrior Project and The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The competition expects 4,000 attendees, 1,080 room nights and $1,432,272 in economic impact.
On Jan. 13, 2024, Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall will host an extraordinary celebration honoring the legacies of Smokin' Joe Frazier and Roy Jones Jr., with the invaluable support and influential presence of Danny "Swift" Garcia, paying homage to the spirit of Smokin' Joe Frazier. This event serves as inspiration, igniting the spirits of future champions. The legacies of Frazier and Jones Jr., coupled with Danny Garcia's contemporary influence, motivate emerging talents to strive for greatness and etch their names in boxing history. The match expects 2,600 attendees, 40 room nights and $393,564 in economic impact.
Jim Whelen Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City will again be home to the NAPA AUTO PARTS Indoor Auto Racing Series on Jan. 26 - Jan. 27, 2024. The headlining TQ Midgets will compete in two complete point-paying shows of qualifying and feature events on both nights. Saturday’s main event will feature the 22nd running of the Gambler’s Classic. The event will host a new event on Friday, Jan. 26, the Black Jack 21. The show expects 11,000 attendees, 952 room nights and $2,180,454 in economic impact.
U.S. Futsal Northeast Regional Championship
The U.S. Futsal Northeast Regional Championship, the largest Futsal Competition in the United States, will be held at the Atlantic City Convention Center between Feb. 16 – 19, 2024. Futsal is a type of soccer that is played indoors on a court much smaller than a traditional soccer pitch. The smaller field size ensures a game of Futsal is fast-paced and more intense, with more opportunity for goal scoring. The event expects 8,000 attendees, 4,000 room nights and $4,082,927 in economic impact.
MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will take place from March 12 - 16, 2024 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. The MAAC basketball tournament determines the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's champion and the winner of the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I basketball tournament. The event expects 10,000 attendees, 1,928 room nights and $3,692,960 in economic impact.

THE ARCADE at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City Opened Nov. 1
The recently opened ARCADE at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City offers fast-paced fun for all ages. Designed by Aria Group, the 5,328-square-foot arcade is illuminated by bright neon lights and offers a high-energy, multisensory experience for all ages and skill levels. The venue features more than 60 supersized games, including classics like Skee-Ball, air hockey, basketball, race car-themed games and an epic claw machine, Big One Extreme. Additionally, players are transported into immersive adventures via virtual reality with games like “Rabbids,” along with many more games and attractions.
First Dave & Buster’s in Atlantic City Opens At Tanger Outlets Atlantic City
The Dave & Buster’s at Tanger Outlets Atlantic City opened on Dec. 14. The 21,900-square-foot entertainment and restaurant center at 2120 Atlantic Ave. features about 100 arcade games, food, alcoholic beverages and a sports bar with a 40-foot wall of high-definition television screens.
Nobu Hotel Atlantic City Set To Open in 2024
Nobu Hotel Atlantic City is projected to open in 2024 within Caesars Atlantic City and will further position the city as a leading travel destination on the East Coast. Nobu Hotel Atlantic City, including a Nobu restaurant, is part of Caesars’ $400 million investment in the destination. This investment includes high-end remodeled room towers and suites; freshly appointed interior design elements; enhancements to the casinos’ gaming floors; and many more exciting additions within the next three years. The debut of Nobu Hotel Atlantic City at Caesars Atlantic City will revitalize the famed Atlantic City Boardwalk and raise the hospitality bar by introducing world-class experiences to the market.
