EVENT WILL GENERATE MORE THAN 2,000 ROOM NIGHTS AND MORE THAN $16 MILLION IN DELEGATE SPENDING FOR ATLANTIC CITY
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (Wednesday, November 4, 2015) The Atlantic City Convention Center will welcome one of the biggest conventions of its kind as it hosts more than 45,000 attendees for the 2015 New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) Convention on November 5-6.
Local Atlantic City businesses are expected to greatly benefit from the NJEA Convention activity at the convention center over two days. The estimated delegate spending is expected to reach more than $16 million. In addition, more than 2,000 hotel room nights have been contracted by convention center visitors throughout the week. The NJEA Convention features the largest attendance of the year for all events at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
“Our New Jersey teachers are back! The NJEA event continues to make a direct impact on the Atlantic City economy as the restaurants and shops are filled with teachers in between their sessions. We love having them in town and it is the largest actual convention we host on an annual basis, which is great for business,” said Karen Totaro, General Manager, Comcast Spectacor at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
The 2015 NJEA Convention is an annual event, which provides professional and career development opportunities for its members. As one of the world’s largest educational gatherings, it presents teachers and educational support professionals (ESPs) with more than 300 seminars, workshops and programs to further their training in the field.
Jim Wood, President and CEO of Meet AC said, “The New Jersey Education Association has been one of biggest supporters and dedicated clients of Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Convention Center throughout the years. With 45,000 attendees, the local businesses thrive off of their event every year and we look forward to continuing our partnership with NJEA in the future.”
