ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (Wednesday, August 2, 2017) The Atlantic City Convention Center will welcome back the National Sports Collectors Convention (NSCC) to the Atlantic City Convention Center in 2020. More than 40,000 sports fans and memorabilia collectors will attend the 41st Annual National Sports Collectors Convention, which will be held July 29 through August 2, 2020.
The National Sports Collectors Convention is an annual gathering of collectors, dealers and many other groups interested in collecting trading cards, autographs, authentication, vintage game–used equipment and other sports and entertainment related memorabilia. The National has grown to be a mega-event, which can be housed in only a few locations in the country, but it still attracts all aspects of the multi-billion dollar collectibles industry. With support from the major card manufacturers, card grading services, and auction houses as well as from the licensees of these groups, the National is the premier collectibles event to attend each summer.
Local Atlantic City businesses are expected to greatly benefit from the National Sports Collectors Convention over five days. The estimated economic impact is expected to reach more than $6.5 million. In addition, more than 5,400 hotel room nights will be contracted by convention center visitors throughout the week.
“We are thrilled to welcome back the National Sports Collectors Convention to Atlantic City in 2020. The 2016 NSCC was a huge success and event producers were very pleased with how organizations throughout Atlantic City worked collaboratively to create a successful show, which drew thousands of sports fans and memorabilia collectors to the destination,” said Jim Wood, president and CEO at Meet AC.
“We are extremely excited the 41st National Sports Collectors Convention is returning to Atlantic City in 2020,” said John Broggi, NSCC Show Manager. “The collector base in the area is one of the strongest in the nation and Atlantic City really stepped up to support and promote our return to AC in 2016. We are looking forward to a great 41st National.”
The National’s show hours are scheduled starting Wednesday, July 29, 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, August 2, 2017, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission and VIP Admission tickets will go sale in March of 2020 at www.nsccshow.com and will be available for purchase on-site throughout the show. Children under 12 are free. TRISTAR Productions will start announcing approximately one hundred plus athletes who will be signing in the TRISTAR Autograph Pavilion, starting March 1, 2020.
