ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (Monday, September 11, 2017) During the week of September 11, the Atlantic City Convention Center will be buzzing with business professionals. The facility will welcome more than 7,600 attendees over the course of five events in the next seven days.

Included among this week’s events is the Philadelphia National Candy Gourmet & Gift Show, America’s largest trade show for the retail confectioner, which will take place September 10 through September 12 and will host more than 3,500 attendees. During the same dates, the Arett Lawn & Garden Show will bring together more than 1,200 professionals of the lawn care and gardening industry for educational sessions and a show floor featuring 400 booths all featuring new products for Spring 2018.

Next up, the 15th Annual 2017 Advanced Emergency and Acute Care Medicine Conference will take place in the building September 12 through September 15. Nationally-recognized lecturers will provide a wide variety of courses on the latest treatments on key disease states, coupled with the latest advances in technology.

Another unique event that the convention center will host this week is the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), which will allow more than 1,500 owners, developers, retailers, brokers, lenders, municipalities, property asset managers and product and service providers to gather under one roof to exhibit, make deals and form successful business partnerships. This event will be held September 11 through September 13. To wrap up the week, the LAB DAY East 2017 Trade Show will welcome more than 1,200 laboratory owners, managers and technicians attendees, which will be held September 16.

Local Atlantic City businesses are expected to greatly benefit from this week’s events at the convention center over the next seven days. The estimated economic impact is expected to reach more than $4.8 million. In addition, more than 5,120 hotel rooms have been contracted by convention center visitors.

“Hosting five industry conferences and trade shows over one week in the Atlantic City Convention Center will generate a significant economic impact for Atlantic City,” said CRDA Executive Director Chris Howard. “Showcasing our facility and city to these professionals will help attract future events and visitors to our destination.”

“This busy week kicks off a great fall season for events at the Atlantic City Convention Center. These events showcase the wonderful economic engine of meetings and events in Atlantic City,” added Spectra’s Dean Dennis, General Manager of the Atlantic City Convention Center.
