National Account Director

  • Position Summary:

    • The National Account Director is responsible for booking new business and maintaining existing customers for the Atlantic City Convention Center and hotel properties. The National Account Director generates leads and bookings, is direct-selling based and requires outside sales calls to account offices, telecommunications to accounts, and attendance at industry trade shows, forums, and conventions.

  • Reports to: Executive Director of Sales
  • Job Type: Full Time Exempt
    • Schedule: 8-hour hybrid schedule (after probationary period) Weekends and nights as business demands.
    • Travel: 25%-50% as needed per month
    • Location: Ideally Atlantic City, NJ but will consider a remote position

  • Job Summary:
    • The National Account Director is an experienced and dynamic leader for the Atlantic City Convention Center and Greater Atlantic City area hotels. The ideal candidate must have previous group sales experience with diverse client accounts, driving sales growth, and providing exceptional leadership. The Director will ensure that activities, accounts, and bookings focus on yielding the most profitable business in rooms and food and beverage. Must be able to travel as required. This role is a mix of in-house hotel business and citywide conventions held at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Currently, the vertical markets consist of Medical/Healthcare, Financial, Insurance, Legal, Technology, and Scientific and Engineering.
  • Duties:
    • Manage and nurture client relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention
    • Analyze sales data and market trends to develop strategic account plans
    • Lead negotiations with clients to secure new business opportunities
    • Oversee account management activities and ensure deliverables meet client expectations
    • Utilize Simpleview CRM tools to track account progress and forecast sales
    • Represents the company at various community events and partner meetings.
  • Skills needed:
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office package; Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
    • Excellent skills with all social media platforms
    • Ability to quickly become familiar with and utilize Visit Atlantic City’s CRM/database system.
    • Strong instinctive customer service skills, internal and external
    • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and timelines
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong teamwork and teambuilding skills.
    • Maintain a positive and professional attitude and appearance.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • National Account Director:
    • In addition to the skills listed above, the National Account Director serves as a mentor for the National Account Directors and assists the Executive Director of Sales in the day-to-day operation of the sales team.
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree or 7-10 years industry experience with at least 5 years dedicated to sales.
    • Five years minimum relevant experience preferred, CMP, CEM a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Proven track record in managing and achieving sales targets
    • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively
    • Proficiency in analyzing sales data and market trends to drive business growth
    • Experience in outside sales and building strong client relationships
  • Nice-to-have Skills:
    • Leadership qualities to inspire and motivate account teams
    • Technical sales expertise to understand complex product offerings
